The Moray House School of Education (MHSE), part of the University’s College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, is a large and successful multi-disciplinary School, contributing strongly to all aspects of the University’s success. We offer a rich and diverse learning and research environment for our staff and students, with close links between our three Institutes, alongside strong relationships with other world-class subject areas across the University and beyond.
We seek to appoint a new Head of School with outstanding leadership skills, an academic background in any one of our cognate disciplines, and the confidence and vision to lead MHSE and inspire our large and diverse academic community. We are currently in the process of changing the name of the School to Moray House School of Education and Sport, and applicants from all subject areas covered by the School are welcome.

The successful candidate, if they do not already hold a Chair with the School, will be appointed to a Chair located within the most appropriate Institute of the School. The Headship of the School is normally undertaken for an initial period of 5 years, with the possibility of an option to extend for a further period of up to 5 years. Following this tenure as head of School the Professor will be based within the cognate Institute within the School.
This is an open-ended, full-time position.
