Location: The Active Office, Swansea University Bay Campus 

This is an exciting opportunity to join the team at the Active Buildings Centre as we progress toward our ambitious target of delivering over 300 active buildings across the UK. As Head of Connected Buildings, you will lead on the impacts, implications and opportunities of multiple active buildings. You will lead on developing electrical and thermal models of active buildings, and establish the scope and range of optimised systems and materials. Using leading dynamic modelling software, you will direct massing studies at micro-grid scale, developing robust validation methodologies leading to product specification. You will be responsible for creating links amongst the ABC coalition and its industrial partners to expand the vision and applications of multiple active building installations.

The Active Building Centre (ABC) is a national centre of excellence looking to transform construction through the deployment of active buildings - disrupting the energy and construction industry through new solar- powered building design.

Our plan to deliver a strategic pipeline of these innovative Active Buildings, which are more sustainable, perform better are comfortable and will significantly contribute to decarbonisation.

As an ambitious new project, we are interested in hearing from informed individuals who are ready to challenge the status quo as we aim to remove barriers and accelerate market adoption of Active Buildings.
