Mathematical Institute, Andrew Wiles Building, Radcliffe Observatory Quarter, Woodstock Road, Oxford, OX2 6GG.

Grade 8: £40,792 - £48,677 p.a.

This post presents an ideal opportunity to gain experience in project management and policy development in a thriving academic department. You will play a wide ranging role, managing strategic projects such as departmental REF and Athena SWAN submissions, engaging in departmental policy development, and providing outstanding professional support for senior colleagues within the Mathematical Institute.

This is a full-time fixed-term position, tenable until 31 December 2021. The department would be willing to appoint at 80% FTE spread over a minimum of 4 days a week.

While the role is a Grade 8 position, we would be willing to consider candidates with potential but less experience who are seeking a development opportunity, for which an initial appointment would be at Grade 7 (£32,236 - £39,609 p.a.) with the responsibilities adjusted accordingly. This would be discussed with applicants at interview/appointment where appropriate.

With a first degree (or equivalent), you will have excellent organisational and problem-solving skills, outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, and a good understanding of the Higher Education operational environment. You will be required to work independently, using your initiative and exercising sound judgement and discretion in a complex environment. The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to influence change and build effective relationships with staff at all levels.
