Applications are invited for the post of Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, to be held in the School of General Engineering at Beihang University. Beihang University was founded in 1952 and has become one of the nation’s foremost research universities, ranking among the top 10 in China. The SGE was established in 2017 and provides an international study environment, small-size classes and all-in-English courses to establish a solid foundation for engineering science and interdisciplinary research.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree in the fields of Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related discipline. They should have an extensive teaching experience and a strong track record in peer-reviewed publications. Applicants for senior levels should, in addition, possess experience in acquisition of external project funding and outstanding academic leadership capabilities. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English are essential; Mandarin is not required.
The appointee will teach at the undergraduate level (including but not limited to “Automatic Control”, “Aerospace Structure”, “Manufacture Engineering”), supervise students, and contribute to the development of the SGE curriculum. They are also expected to publish their research in high-quality, peer-reviewed SCI-indexed journals and participate in recruitment events for domestic/international students.
We offer an attractive salary package (annual salary: Full Professor up to £90,000, Associate Professor up to £70,000, and Assistant Professor up to £50,000), including relocation expenses, housing allowance (or apartment provision) and start-up funds, depending on the position offered. Spouse’s job and children’s schooling can be arranged, and other benefits can be negotiated.
