Our sector-leading Pre-sessional programmes are BALEAP accredited and uniquely partnered with a university residential college ensuring students’ social and pastoral needs are also met. All pre-sessional teachers will have the oopportunity to become a member of the College’s Senior Common Room.
Our curriculum and teaching material is content-led, designed in-house, and provided in full. We provide an induction to the ethos and principles underpinning the programme, followed up by weekly meetings to ensure teachers are fully supported in their effective implementation of the course. We welcome and value an international staff base, and we pride ourselves on offering a stimulating and supportive working environment.
We are seeking well-qualified, experienced and talented EAP teachers for the following courses:
Workload: approximately 16-18 contact hours (with 16-18 hours preparation and marking, and approximately 2 hours meetings) per week.
Salary: £685/wk plus 12.07% holiday pay.
Free self-catering accommodation available on request.
You will deliver our curriculum to postgraduate and/or undergraduate students who have been conditionally accepted onto Durham degree programmes. Pre-sessional is intensive and aims to induct and socialise students into the practices and expectations of academic study in English at University level. We aim to limit class sizes to approximately 12 students as a core component of your teaching is feedback to students on their work.
