The Innovations Directorate within the Grant Management Group of LGC Ltd manages a number of translational health research programmes. We are looking to expand our team with a number of Senior Programme Managers, a central role within the Innovations Directorate, to manage the SBRI Healthcare Programme. This programme is focused on delivering new innovations from UK-based industry to the NHS. Its objectives are to stimulate innovation in the economy by supporting firms to develop and commercialise new technology-based products and solutions, provide the NHS with new and cost-effective solutions and accelerate the development of new technologies that meet the needs of the NHS.
Due to the nature of the programme engagement with industry is a particular focus, and we are looking for candidates with experience in commercially focused research, technology transfer, healthcare companies or investment in the life sciences sector. The successful candidates will be highly responsible individuals with significant expertise in the development stages of new healthcare technologies, the assessment and due diligence of funding proposals and stakeholder management.
The key role of the Senior Programme Manager is to manage the funding processes and to ensure effective monitoring of funded projects. The Senior Programme Manager will carry out due diligence of project proposals and funded projects and is expected to be able to critically analyse the project rationale and the proposed intellectual property (IP) and commercialisation arrangements. The appointed individuals will need to manage complex stakeholder situations and possess a creative approach to problem solving.
Other key aspects include the management of a portfolio of funded projects, supporting team members and the improvement of operational processes and working practices. The Senior Programme Manager will also be involved in the capture of key outputs and their impact on delivering innovations to the NHS.
In addition, Senior Programme Managers may be expected to line manage at least one member of staff.
