This is an exciting opportunity to provide professional services leadership, management and expertise to our substantial Global Challenges Research Funding (GCRF) and Official Development Assistance (ODA) eligible research portfolio. The post holder will support our aim: “to increase focus and growth on innovative ways to create and support a portfolio of diverse partnerships in developing countries that unlock creativity, build capacity and are transformational in the knowledge they generate through collaborative research”.
UK Government Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF) includes significant support for universities through the Scottish Funding Council (SFC). In this role you will be responsible for highlighting and extending the University of Edinburgh’s leadership and best practice in development related research in order to make its fullest contribution to “addressing the problems faced by developing countries, while developing our ability to conduct cutting-edge research (UK Strategy for Global Challenges research Funding (UKRI 2016)”. Playing a lead role within the university the post holder will provide experience and expertise on development-related research activity which is responsive to our University vision to make a significant, sustainable and socially responsible contribution to Scotland, the UK and the world.
Fixed Term for 3 years, with the potential for extension.
