Are you a highly organised administrator working within an educational careers service OR working within graduate recruitment? About the role: As our Careers & Employability Officer you will be the first point of contact for our student enquiries to the Careers Service signposting students to suitable information resources and to ensure that the Service and employability activities are resourced effectively. You will also be responsible for developing links between external organisations and QAHE, in order to promote and support the Careers Service, Advance Practice Internship Programme and the planning and delivery of alumni activities.
Day to day:
Act as an initial point of contact and provide first line support for all enquiries to the Careers Service - whether in person, by telephone or email - from students, alumni, employers and faculty.
Help students to access and make the best use of careers resources, using effective listening and questioning skills in order to accurately diagnose each student’s need;
Analyse and interpret student data, producing monthly reports for the Head of Careers;
Where appropriate, encourage students to attend specific workshops or a 1:1 appointment with a Careers Advisor based on their careers/employability requirement, managing the booking system to ensure workshops and appointments are resourced effectively;
Actively develop knowledge of current careers and employability information and contribute to the updating and production of printed and online resources, under the guidance of the Head of Careers and Employability;
Participate in and deliver student activities the Service offers such as workshops and induction events that are relevant to the scope of this role and the promotion of the Service to the student population and faculty members;
Develop links with external employers and extend the numbers of employers who have active relationships with QAHE in order to support and develop work related opportunities for students;
Publicise and promote the opportunities available to students and staff in relation to employers and employability inc; voluntary, work experience, graduate jobs etc.
Work alongside the Internship and Placement Manager to support the provision of internships by undertaking student-facing tasks and other research activities to develop the internship offering; and

Candidates will be highly organised with strong administration skills and ideally have experience of working in a higher education setting in a Careers and Employability Service or within graduate recruitment.
