This is an exciting and challenging post requiring academic and management skills to ensure the effective delivery of a Europe and UK based randomised controlled trial. The post holder will be working primarily with the research team based at the University of East Anglia and will liaise with team members based at the Universities of Oxford and Amsterdam UMC.
The post involves close liaison with staff from participating medical practices and community pharmacies who will be supporting patient identification and recruitment processes. The trial involves community pharmacists signposting patients to an app which is designed to help the patient work with their pharmacist, GP and friends and family to get better outcomes from their medication prescribed for type 2 diabetes. This app is being trialled in 150 people in the UK and 150 people in the Netherlands. The project will comprise a first stage of testing our methods for three months and then patient recruit patients for six months and follow up for six months. Alongside the main trial will be a process evaluation to investigate fidelity of intervention delivery and the mediators of change.
You will be expected to have a minimum of a PhD in Pharmacy Practice (or be about to obtain within the next 6 months) or have equivalent experience, substantial experience of health services research and study/project manager and be able to meet all essential elements of the person specification.
The full time post is available from 1 June 2019 on a fixed term basis until 11 April 2021.
