Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Low Temperature Experimental Physics of Quantum Matter. The post is available initially for a fixed-term duration of 2 years, with the possibility of extension for 1 year. This project will concentrate upon studies of exotic many-body states of electronic, magnetic and atomic quantum matter  with a focus on direct experimental visualization or perception of the quantum phenomenology.
Systems under study include superconductors, Bose condensates, heavy fermions, ferromagnetic topological insulators, Dirac and Weyl semimetals, magnetic monopole fluids, quantum spin liquids and exciton fluids.
Davis Group operates as a single research unit using a suite of complementary instruments in two ultralow vibration laboratories in the Beecroft Building at the University of Oxford (UK) and in the Kane Building at University College Cork (IE) . PDRAs based at Oxford will carry out research at both sites
The successful candidate will have a combination of specialised knowledge, skills and successful experience in several of the research areas listed in the job description. The postholder will have the opportunity to teach.
Applicants should hold a PhD, or be close to completion in physics and have a strong background in many-body quantum mechanics and quantum matter research. Previous experience in the field of low temperature physics of quantum matter will be an advantage.
