This is an exciting opportunity to join the Management and Marketing Group at Essex Business School in the field of Marketing. The group already has more than 15 research active members, consisting of emerging as well as world-leading researchers with an international reputation for its cutting-edge research in the fields of brand management, sustainability, social enterprise, critical management & marketing and consumer behaviour.

Duties of the Role
The purpose of this post is to enhance the School’s research profile and to both contribute to and lead in developing their specialism; to develop and actively engage in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and supervision; and to extend the School’s profile regionally, nationally and internationally through collaboration with other institutions.
You will be required to contribute to excellence in education by designing and delivering substantive and effective teaching and learning support, at undergraduate and postgraduate levels; engage in individual and/or collaborative research activity (resulting in internationally excellent publications) that is in keeping with REF criteria; generate external research funding (appropriate in scale to career stage and subject area norms); and undertake leadership duties related to research and education appropriate to career stage.

Qualifications and Skills required
Applicants should have a relevant doctoral level research degree in marketing or related field, or be close to completion of a PhD.
In addition, you will possess evidence of a research agenda, engagement in high-quality research activity and a developing research profile, coupled with a clear publication plan for submission to future Research Excellence Framework (REF) programmes; and proven experience in teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels in the area of marketing, or demonstrable potential to achieve this. Ideally, you will have a track record of publications in internationally recognised, reputable journals (and other media of similar standing) appropriate to career stage and discipline norms.
We are advertising for a range of opportunities within Essex Business School. These roles have a range of start dates commencing between 1 September 2019 and 30 June 2020: the start date for each specific role will be discussed with you at interview.
This is a permanent, full-time role on an ASER (teaching and research) contract and appointment will be made as Lecturer (R).
