Full-Time Post:  36.25 hours per week

The School of Fashion is looking to appoint a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer for its highly successful and prestigious BA (Hons) Fashion Promotion and Imaging course Top Up. The position will be split 50:50 between supporting the Top Up programme at Shape, Hong Kong and supporting the International Department in the UK with student recruitment and marketing activities across South East Asia. This appointment provides a significant opportunity to contribute to the development and delivery of fashion communication within this course. The programme is delivered by Shape and taught at Hong Kong Design Institute.

You will have highly developed experience in fashion promotion & imaging industry sectors such as marketing, advertising, communication design, fashion forecasting and publication of fashion through the visual image particularly within digital and new media. You will have appropriate specialist knowledge in these areas and will be up to date with current industry practice including developments in social media, fine art and exhibition making. 

You should have a diverse range of experience, knowledge and specialist skills within digital and new media. You will have a good honor’s degree in fashion or arts related subject and a relevant master’s qualification postgraduate qualification or equivalent is desirable. You will also have a successful record of accomplishment in curriculum delivery and be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of critical, theoretical and practical aspects that underpin Fashion Promotion and Imaging.

You will have experience of quality assurance, academic and administrative management on undergraduate programs in a related subject area.

You should have a strong understanding of contemporary educational issues, be able to inspire and motivate both staff and students.  Additionally, you will be actively engaged with the industry/professional practice, and be expected to demonstrate a commitment to relevant research interests.

You will have experience in initiating new projects and establishing meaningful partnerships and a desire to promote and market University for the Creative Arts in the UK.

The successful candidate will participate in the student recruitment for the SHAPE Top Up degree, including interviewing where appropriate.

Interviews will be held week commencing 24th June 2019.
