The top-ranked, triple-crown accredited University of Auckland Business School is seeking an exceptional academic leader to spearhead the continued development of its highly successful Graduate School of Management (GSM).

This is a substantive academic appointment at professorial level with the key leadership responsibility as Director of the GSM, initially for a five year term (renewable by mutual agreement). An appointment at Associate Professor would also be considered, if an individual’s developing academic career is complemented by substantial leadership experience.

The GSM is a multi-disciplinary department within the University of Auckland Business School - one of the largest and most successful in the Australasian region with a strong reputation across the Asia-Pacific region. The exceptional faculty are characterised by their desire to make a difference to business in New Zealand and the international perspective and connections they bring and continue to foster. Applications are encouraged from individuals with a PhD and research interests in any of the disciplines taught in the GSM.

Your desire to identify and promote opportunities for industry engagement will further enhance the reputation, relevance and influence of the GSM.

Reporting to the Dean, you will have primary responsibility for the development and execution of the GSM strategy, culture, budget, and programmes that deliver high quality, relevant learning experiences that maximise employment outcomes for graduates. You will demonstrate well developed people and management skills, an understanding of business and academic environments and commitment to fostering a positive culture. This position will provide the appointee opportunity to further develop their leadership career within New Zealand’s most successful Business School.
