Information about the project:
Applications are invited for an industrially funded PhD studentship to undertake research on Antennas for 5G Communications. The three-year studentship will be supervised by Professor Zhipeng Wu in the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering. The start date will be July or September 2019.
The project will investigate the design of compact and broadband antennas suitable for applications in 5G communication frequency bands. It will involve electromagnetic modelling, simulation, construction and laboratory testing of various antennas at the University of Manchester.
Qualifications applicants should have/expected to receive:
The applicant should have a very good honours degree or Master degree in antennas, electromagnetic modelling or an electrical engineering subject, and meet the academic requirements for enrolment for a doctorate at the University of Manchester.
The applicant will be an enthusiastic and self-motivated person, having a rigorous and disciplined approach to research. Good team-working and communication skills are essential.
Funding is available (Fees and stipend for Home/eligible EU; Part fees or stipend only for International) to support a successful applicant.
