Location: College Lane Campus, University of Hertfordshire, Hatfield 

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our friendly Paramedic team within the School of Health and Social Work. You will play an essential role both in the delivery of our educational programmes.

Main duties and responsibilities

You will be responsible for teaching and assessing undergraduate/postgraduate Paramedic students at the University, at their placement or place of work.  You will be participating, as required, in the development and reviews of programmes including inter-professional developments across the School as well as undertaking other appropriate teaching and administrative responsibilities within the School as required. The role requires you to contribute to the interview admissions team for the undergraduate Paramedic programme, including attendance at some open weekend days.

The Senior Lecturer will contribute to the administration of the School by undertaking additional roles, such as becoming a module lead and joining teams involved in activities including admissions, timetabling or programme support. In addition, you will undertake and contribute to Paramedic research. 

The University takes the welfare of its students seriously and operates a confidential personal tutor system. You will be required to play a full role as a personal tutor and other administrative activities as deemed appropriate. 

Skills and experience

We are looking for an experienced practising Paramedic with the HCPC who possesses recent academic and/or clinical experience in the UK. It is essential that you have good oral and written communication skills, demonstrate a willingness to undertake paramedic research and can work effectively as part of a team.

Qualifications required

The successful applicant will hold a Bachelors degree in Paramedic Science and a Masters degree in a relevant subject. It is essential that you are HCPC registered.
