The Departments of Organisation, Work and Technology (see https://www.lancaster.ac.uk/lums/our-departments/organisation-work-and-technology/) and Marketing (see https://www.lancaster.ac.uk/lums/our-departments/marketing/) at Lancaster University Management School (LUMS) invite applications for a joint International Lectureship in Management to begin as soon as possible. The departments welcome applications in all areas of management that fit with scholarship & teaching relevant to one or both of the two departments. You will be appointed to whichever department best fits your scholarship, but will be expected to contribute to teaching in both departments.

You will have completed a PhD. For a Senior Teaching Associate post you will have experience of undergraduate and/or post-graduate teaching, whist for a Teaching Fellow post you will also have some experience of undergraduate and postgraduate programme design and management. The position comes with an allocation of up to 20% time for scholarship to inform teaching.

This post arises as a result of international teaching activities, which you will need to help deliver. Lancaster University has established a joint institute with its highly ranked partner Beijing Jiaotong University (BJTU). The campus, called Lancaster University College at Beijing Jiaotong University, is located in Weihai in the Shandong province in China. The post involves direct collaboration with our key strategic partner in China and requires you to spend two periods of ten weeks at BJTU every year.

1. For a Teaching Associate or Teaching Fellow post, engaging in scholarship that informs teaching in areas relevant to the Departments activities.
2. Undertaking two visits of 10 weeks duration annually to teach on the undergraduate programme in Business Studies at the Weihai campus. This will involve teaching modules relating to both management and organisation studies and marketing. As such, you must be to contribute to teaching activities in both the Department of Organisation, Work and Technology and the Department of Marketing.
3. Engaging with the administration and day-to-day running of the Department in Lancaster as well as its international activities.

Members of academic staff are entitled to paid accommodation in Weihai, travel allowances and medical insurance in accordance with Lancaster University’s International (short term) Assignment policy.

You will deliver teaching at the Joint Institute in Weihai, China as part of the international strategic partnership between Beijing-Jiaotong University and Lancaster University.
