We are currently inviting applications for the following professorship in the Faculty of Society and Economics, Kleve Campus, to be filled at the next possible date: 

Professor in "General Business Administration with focus on Taxation and Management Science"

W2 position (LBesG NRW)

Your tasks 

  • The candidate should represent the field of business taxation and quantitative methods in economics in teaching and research in the Facutly of Society and Economics and offer expertise in the area of taxation and quantitative methods in teaching and research in a vast range of application
  • Participation in applied research in cooperation with industry, as well as research and development, development of the university and research institutes, including technology transfer
  • Teaching course includes contents of the Bachelor's and Master's degree courses
  • Interdisciplinary cooperation in the area of the study courses of the Faculty
  • Teaching basic courses and optional courses in German and English in the context of the teaching area, also in the evening and at the weekend
  • The ability and willingness in teaching courses in the area of operational taxation is requested. Also requested is the teaching of methodical basic courses, especially business mathematics, knowledge of relevant software solutions and impulses for the application of quantitative methods in a vast range of application. An examination as tax account is advantageous but not mandatory. 

Your profile 

  • Degree in Economic Sciences and pertinent doctorate
  • Practical professional experience in taxation and/or business consultancy or practical application of quantitative methods
  • Research expertise to be verified by relevant publications, lectures and research projects
  • Excellent command of the English language is essential
  • Creativity, enthusiasm and team skills 

Trial lectures will be held from 7–8 October 2019. 

The relevant statutory requirements governing the appointment of professors are set forth in § 36 of the Higher Education Act of North Rhine-Westphalia (Hochschulgesetz NRW). These include, in particular: 

  • A completed university degree in a related field
  • Special aptitude for academic work, demonstrated usually by a high-quality doctoral dissertation
  • Outstanding achievements in the advancement or application of scientific knowledge and methods over a period of ideally five years, three of which having occurred outside of higher education
  • Non-native German speakers must have at least basic proficiency in German.
