A postdoctoral Research Associate position is available for an outstanding and ambitious materials characterisation scientist to undertake research in the field of photoelectron spectroscopy of metal oxide materials for novel sun-care products. The post is temporary for a period of 9 months. Work will be carried out in collaboration with Croda Personal Care, a world leader in personal care products, including sun screen.

You should have, or be working towards, a PhD or equivalent in physics, chemistry or materials science, specifically in materials characterisation and surface science. Expertise in the use and maintenance of (Near-ambient Pressure) X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy instruments and data analysis are essential. You should be capable of working under your own initiative and be comfortable working with both academic and industrial partners, so excellent communication and organisational skills are also required.
