This is an exciting leadership opportunity. You will lead a team of gifted and dedicated technologists who build solutions to solve complex research problems, working closely to support researchers in the use of advanced technologies.
The position of Research Services Systems Team Lead leads the planning, operating, and maintaining the Research infrastructure and the associated systems software in addition to managing the team and working with a high performing research platforms support group.
This role will be pivotal in ensuring the successful implementation and operations of the research computing services within the University. The role will be part of the 10 staff which currently including systems team of 5. The Research Services team will grow over the next 2 years. This role reports to the Head of Research Services. The role will need to forge close working relationships with the rest of the ISG team, business stakeholders, external suppliers, and the ISG teams.
This is a time of significant expansion of the University’s Digital Research Services, with additional investment committed to grow the teams who will provide these services and the underlying infrastructure. The University has a vision for underpinning its world class research with world class research technology, and there is 10 year funding plan in place to realise this vision.
The University hosts a number of internationally recognised centres which support to national and international audiences: EPCC, EDINA, DCC and Software Sustainability Institute. You will work closely with these centres in provision of services to University researchers.
