We are seeking to appoint a Postdoctoral Researcher in Human Immunology/ Scientific Co-ordinator located between the NDM Research Building and Wellcome Trust. The role will be to work on an exciting research project on degue and Zika virus, in the laboratory of Professor Gavin Screaton, Dr Juthathip Mongkolsapaya and Professor Tao Dong. Both viruses are mosquito borne diseases of tropical and subtropical countries where they cause a considerable healthcare burden. The pathogenesis of severe dengue is likely immune mediated and the laboratory has considerable experience in the investigation of the immune response to Dengue virus. The post holder will be involved in a broadly based research program covering a number of aspects of Dengue and Zika immunology, and vaccine development. 

The successful candidate will be able to manage their own academic research and administrative activities, contribute ideas, and identify suitable techniques for data collection. As well as assisting with Chinese grant application, provide guidance to staff and PhD students and occasionally supporting public engagement activities. 

You must hold a PhD level or be close to completion with at least 3 years’ experience in T cell culture and cloning, antigen specific T cell assays and flow cytometry analysis. The post holder will also be fluent in Chinese and English, written and oral. 

This full-time position is fixed-term for 3 years in the first instance.
