We are seeking an outstanding post-doctoral researcher with expertise in polyoxometalate (POM) synthesis and characterisation to make a leading contribution to the recently established EPSRC-JSPS Core-to-Core International Network on Polyoxometalate Science for Advanced Functional Energy Materials. You will explore the synthesis and fundamental chemistry of POMs and POM-based organic-inorganic hybrids with the aim of incorporating these compounds into materials for energy transformation, charge storage or catalysis.
You will collaborate not only with other scientists and engineers in the North East Centre for Energy Materials based at Newcastle University but also with research groups worldwide through the Core-to-Core Network (UK, Japan, France, Germany, China) and a CNRS International POM Research Network (France, UK, Spain, Israel).
You must have a PhD (awarded or near completion) in polyoxometalate chemistry, together with comprehensive, up-to-date knowledge of current issues and future directions within wider polyoxometalate science. As the role will involve some international travel you must hold a valid passport.
