The position of Teaching Fellow in Mathematics and Data Science, within the School of Engineering, Computing and Mathematics based at the Wheatley Campus, offers the opportunity to join a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment with a tradition of excellence in teaching and research and strong links with industry.
The role will involve delivery of our Mathematics and Data Science modules. You will join a strong team delivering successful undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Mathematics and Data Analytics in a well-equipped, purpose-built, facility supported by excellent links with industry.

This is a full time, fixed term appointment, for 2 years in the first instance.

As Teaching Fellow you will be responsible for:

  • Teaching and learning activities at the undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels, using appropriate materials and methods, devised and /or selected by the role holder
  • Undertaking individual tutorial sessions, supervises projects and dissertations, manages external student activity which contributes to the student learning experience (e.g. work placements)
  • Contributing to curriculum development
  • Reflect on practices and the development of personal learning and teaching skills.

You should have:

  • BSc in Mathematics and MSc in Data Science or equivalent
  • Teaching Experience in HE
  • Recent industry or equivalent academic experience
  • Strong software development skills in R or Python
  • Excellent communication skills and experience of successfully working as part of a team.
