About the role:

We are currently looking for Senior Cell Biologists within the Drug Discovery Unit. The Drug Discovery Unit was established in 2010 and has a strong record of candidate drug delivery with successful project collaborations with AstraZeneca, GSK and biotech partners. We have recently relocated our well-equipped laboratories to Alderley Park. The aim of this post is to provide expertise in cell biology throughout the drug discovery process. In particular todevise experimental strategies to identify and validate drug targets, to build assays to profile and understand compound activity versus the drug target and to perform studies to identify clinical biomarkers to aid patient selection and thus make a significant contribution to the practical delivery of projects.

About you:

You should have a BSc (or equivalent) in Biological Sciences or related subject or equivalent relevant experience along with specialist knowledge in cancer cell biology and cellular assays with extensive experience in cellular assay development, screening and compound profiling. Extensive experience, ideally in the biotech or pharma sectors is also required.

A PhD or research experience in a drug discovery setting would be an advantage.
