Edinburgh Innovations Limited
Edinburgh Innovations (EI), the commercialisation and technology transfer subsidiary of the University of Edinburgh, seeks to appoint an Intellectual Property and Patent Administrator to support our intellectual property commercialisation activities.
This is a challenging role requiring a confident and self-motivated individual, with a demonstrable track record in office and data management, preferably of patented technology.
As part of a small dedicated team within EI, you will undertake the administrative activities required to support Edinburgh Innovations’ (EI) work on the protection, development and commercial exploitation of inventions arising from University of Edinburgh researchers.
The successful candidate will have demonstrable hands-on experience of managing complex office databases and processes, where decisions require input from several stakeholders, and must be actioned before deadlines that are immovable.
A wide range of administrative and organisational skills are required with particular emphasis on good oral and written communication skills, attention to detail, and experience of using and managing databases and database management.
Ideally, the preferred candidate will have familiarity of intellectual property rights, IP protection principles and the patenting process. The post would particularly suit a candidate already working in a patent law firm or within a university technology transfer office.
This post is available for 12 months on a fixed-term contract to provide maternity cover for an established member of staff.
Informal enquiries can be made to John Lonsdale, Head of Enterprise Services John.Lonsdale@ei.ed.ac.uk
Closing Date: 31-JUL-2019 at 5pm GMT
