We are looking for a creative individual to support the marketing and communications activities across our exhibitions, performances and events. More information about UHArts can be found in the Appendix attached to this vacancy
Main duties and responsibilities
As an integral member of a small team, the Arts Marketing & Design Assistant will support marketing and communications activities across all artforms. You will use communication, design and excellent social media skills to engage with audiences both on campus and within local communities, to increase and maximise student and staff engagement and box office sales.
Skills and experience needed
You’ll bring proven experience of working in a customer service environment, alongside working within a team and / or office. You will have excellent communication, social media and interpersonal skills to reach students/staff and off-campus audiences, to increase both participation with UHArts and ticket sales. You will have an appreciation of the arts and cultural sector and will be keen to learn new skills and test new ideas.
You must have competent IT skills, with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and InDesign. Additionally, you will be a confident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills you’ll enjoy using to establish new and lasting working relationships. A good eye and the ability to design basic promotional material, working effectively with the central University design team, reprographics and external agencies, is essential. Your flexible and agile approach will offer invaluable support across the team, to drive forward UHArts’ ambition to be a leading UK university arts centre.
You’ll hold five GCSEs at Grade C / 4 or above including Maths and English, or equivalent, or equivalent proven experience; an Honours Degree in a relevant subject is desirable.
We particularly encourage applications from women and people from ethnic minority backgrounds who are under-represented in the University at this level and in this discipline to reflect our diverse student population.
