Jinan University, established in 1906, located in the historical and modern city of Guangzhou, is a leading Chinese university, and one of the ‘211 Project’ universities in China. We have an international outloook and over 50,000 students. Seven subject areas at Jinan University are ranked in the top 1% on the ESI ranking scale. These seven subject area are evaluated highly by the Ministry of Education, with Applied Economics ranked 5th and Statistics ranked 8th at national level.
The University of Birmingham is a public research university located in Birmingham, United Kingdom. Jinan University- University of Birmingham Joint Institute (JBJI) at Jinan University is a ‘Chinese-Foreign Cooperation in Running Schools’ organization approved by the Chinese Ministry of Education in 2016. Currently, JBJI offers four undergraduate programs: Mathematics and Applied Mathematics (B.Sc. Applied Mathematics with Mathematics), Information and Computing Science (B.Sc. Applied Mathematics with Information Computing Science), Statistics with Economics (B.Sc. Applied Mathematics with Statistics), and Economics (B.Sc. Applied Mathematics with Economics). The four programs offered by the Joint Institute focus on integrating knowledge with application, the cultivation of mathematical and economic professionals in cross-disciplinarily fields, and excellence in the fields of social science and natural science. The primary aim of these programs is to cultivate high-level talents who are equipped with solid mathematical skills, global vision, strong competitiveness and innovation, and English language proficiency.
