Applications are invited for a fully funded 2 year postdoctoral research associate in the Tyndall Centre, Manchester in the Department of Mechanical, Aerospace and Civil Engineering in The University of Manchester. This post is part is funded by the UK Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) as part of a major new investment in climate change social science through the Centre for Climate Change and Social Transformations (CAST). The post holder will work with quantitative data from 1.5 to 2oC transformation pathways at national, regional, and global scales, and translate technical measures of energy, food and material demand into indicators which characterise everyday life in terms meaningful to the general public for use within the CAST Centre.
You will work closely with collaborators at the University of East Anglia and University of Utrecht and other academic investigators to deliver project outcomes on time.
You should have proven ability to work independently, have experience of working with quantitative and qualitative data from low-carbon scenarios or transformation pathways together with data analysis skills, and be able to communicate findings in an effective manner. You should be able to interact effectively with researchers from other disciplines and countries. Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential.
