About our Role:  At QA we are passionate about the positive impact of degree apprenticeships as a means of enabling engagement with Higher Education for the wider social spectrum.  We are committed to developing innovative means of teaching that support the new modes of study required by modern students. As Senior Lecturer and Programme Leader, you will be responsible for the academic management and development of the BSc Cyber Security Technical Professional Degree Apprenticeship. You will also be responsible to teach a variety of Computer Science modules (e.g. Software Engineering, Computer Systems & Digital Logic, Algorithm & Maths, Operating Systems & Server Administration, Networking & Cyber Security, etc.) at UG and PG levels. As our degrees are delivered in partnership with Universities, you will be responsible for developing an excellent working relationship with our University partners. Future progression opportunities are likely too, in our expanding multi-campus environment.

Your Focus:   In addition to academic management of BSc Cyber Security Technical Professional Degree Apprenticeship programme, you will be required to create study materials, assessments, etc. You will be required to deliver to modules at UG and PG levels. As an experienced academic you will to have the ability to:  

  • Manage the delivery of the programme including coordination of module activity to support a positive student learning experience.
  • Plan, prepare, teach/deliver modules and support student’s learning on a range of programmes and related subject areas
  • Provide guidance, support and tutorship for student groups and individuals as appropriate.
  • Carry out academic administration duties as required
  • Maintain personal and professional development in line with agreed appraisal and development programme in order to enhance personal knowledge and contribution to relevant activities. 

Bring your experience:

  • Minimum of Master’s Degree in Computer Science/Cyber Security with preference given to candidates holding Doctorate (or close to completion) degrees in Computer Science/Cyber Security or related discipline.
  • HE Lecturer/Senior Lecturer experience and technical expertise in related subjects - essential
  • HE programme management experience – highly desirable or having the potential skills from related work  
  • People management and leadership experience – highly desirable or the potential demonstrated previously
  • HEA Fellowship – desirable
