The British and Irish Legal Information Institute (http://www.bailii.org) is a charity promoting access to justice and the rule of law through free access to legal information. BAILII operates an interactive database of full-text primary legal materials available without charge on the Internet. The database is a major tool for legal research and contributes to public understanding of the law. The continued availability and development of the service is of major importance to the practice and teaching of law. The Executive Officer will also contribute to fundraising activities, new strategic projects and the development of the BAILII database.
