The University of Exeter is a member of the prestigious Russell Group of research-intensive universities. The University has over 22,000 students and 5,500 staff from 180 different countries and has been rated the WhatUni 2017 International Student Choice. Our research focuses on some of the most fundamental issues facing humankind today, with 98% of our research rated as being of international quality in the 2014 Research Excellence Framework. We encourage proactive engagement with industry, business and community partners to enhance the impact of research and education and improve the employability of our students.
Following the publication of our Global Strategy in January 2019 building on our institutional strategy "Making the Exceptional Happen", the University is now seeking to appoint to the newly created role of Director, Global Exeter. Working closely with the Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Global Engagement and across the University community our new Director will be responsible for the delivery of the Global Strategy by coordinating the University's wide range of global activities which include global partnerships, international student recruitment, global experiences for students and staff, engagement with international alumni and business and international marketing and promotion. "Delivering an internationally excellent education" and "creating an impact regionally, nationally and globally" are fundamental goals in our strategic plan, as such the appointment of our new Director is a critical, high profile hire working across the University community at home and overseas.
The University seeks candidates who can bring real innovation to our ambitious global strategy with this being an opportunity to re imagine how we approach and position Exeter as an international university. Candidates will be able to demonstrate experience of working at a senior level in a leadership role in the areas of international student recruitment and/or partnerships or marketing coupled with a detailed understanding of international higher education policy and the opportunities for Exeter. As the University embarks on this ambitious strategy it is essential that our new Director shares our aspirations and works collaboratively and strategically in developing Global Exeter.
