The Division of Construction, Property and Surveying within the School of the Built Environment and Architecture at London South Bank University is seeking to appoint a Lecturer of Senior Lecturer of Quantity Surveying. The School wishes to recruit innovative and ambitious academic staff members across a range of areas in response to the strong growth in student numbers.
The candidate will be expected to cover the teaching of the broad range of topics which constitute the specialty of the Quantity Surveyor whether working for a consultancy firm, a client organisation, a contractor or government. They will include the traditional ones of measurement and documentation of construction works; building economics including cost modelling, planning and control; procurement and tendering; and contract analysis, administration and management. The topics should also include the application of information technology including Building Information Modelling; the subject of value on projects; sustainable construction; and future trends in the profession of quantity surveying.
