A Research Fellow position is available as part of a four-year multi-disciplinary project seeking to create the knowledge base, capacity and capability for future in which water-energy system interventions are selected, designed and operated to support resilient and sustainable national, regional and global development under climate change. You will develop and apply approaches and modelling tools for water-energy nexus and infrastructure system engineering.
You should have a PhD or equivalent experience in a relevant engineering subject and strong experience of water resource systems analysis and energy system interactions. Owing to the sophistication of water-energy modelling and the required use of high performance computing, you will need proven advanced skills in Python, mathematical programming, and UNIX HPC systems. You should have experience of developing research methodologies, analytical approaches, and models and their software implementations, coupled with excellent communication and interpersonal skills evidenced by a range of contacts in engineering industry/academia and experience of communicating and engaging with high level stakeholders/clients.
