Excellent candidates are invited for a Post-doctoral Research Fellow position in Data and Learning Systems, in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Warwick.
The deadline for applications is 19 September, 2019. Start date is ideally in October 2019, but this is subject to negotiation.
The fellow is expected to do research on scalable data analytics over multi-source data repositories, and collaborate with industrial partners that operate large data warehouses and machine learning projects. The ideal candidate has excellent software development skills, and a solid theoretical background/interest in one or more of the following areas: spatial data management, temporal data analytics, graph databases, and scalable machine learning. Candidates with research expertise in related areas are encouraged to apply.
The fellow will work with Prof. Hakan Ferhatosmanoglu and the Data Science Research group that address data and information management challenges for scalable search and learning over large databases. The research challenges include merging multiple types and sources of information and scaling the machine learning process in terms of both size and variety of data. An example application is to identify aggregate spatio-temporal patterns over multiple sources of geotagged data, with applications to traffic and urban planning.
