The Student Enterprise Programme is a unique and exciting initiative at the University of Surrey which offers students from all disciplines and levels the opportunity to explore the potential of generating ideas, running their own business and developing practical business skills to enhance their employability and career prospects. This new role is a unique opportunity for you to lead the Student Enterprise Team in our Incubation and Enterprise unit, and you will play pivotal role in managing, optimising and communicating the enterprise development activities to the student body, together with supporting students to develop their business ideas.
The programme has been running since 2010 as part of the SETsquared Partnership package of innovation commercialisation activities at the University of Surrey. It has evolved and expanded through the addition of funding from Santander Universities, philanthropic funding, start-up visa endorsement and dedicated spaces on campus for enterprise activities. A core programme is in place for the 2019/20 academic year but there is plenty of scope for the new role to evolve the programme further and optimise the delivery of the current programme.
We are looking for an experienced programme manager with an interest in and experience of growing new businesses and well developed communication and people skills, ideally with experience of communicating with and supporting higher education students. Previous experience of running a Student Enterprise programme at a University is desired.
