The Directorate of Finance and Legal Services is currently recruiting for an Assistant Management Accountant.

This is a full time, permanent postition.

As Assistant Management Accountant you will support the SMA with all aspects of management accounting and financial reporting, raising awareness of University financial procedures and implementation of SORP accounting standards.

You will be responsible to:

  • Deputise in absence of the SMA and attend senior management team and budget holder meetings.
  • Prepare and present monthly financial reports to Department Heads and other budget holders.
  • Work with budget holders to build the budget and financial forecasts that feed into the Directorate 5 year plans and the University overall plan.
  • Support the budget holders to prepare an accurate year end position.

You should have:

  • AAT or part qualified accountant.
  • A levels or equivalent.
  • Substantial and relevant experience of working in a finance office/environment.
  • Experience of budgeting, strategic planning, monitoring and reporting.
  • Experience of using financial systems.
