School of Life Sciences
The School of Life Sciences is large and diverse, engaging in research and education ranging from Biomedical Science to Marine Biology, creating a challenging and rewarding environment for both students and staff. We are looking for an ambitious individual who will provide strategic and managerial support to the Head of School and Senior Management Team – driving and providing excellence and quality.
Duties of the Role
This full-time post is the senior administrative officer within the school, responsible for the management of academic quality assurance processes and administrative structures in the School, leadership of the Education, Research and Technical Services teams including management of an administrative support team, and acting as an interface between the School, the Faculty and the University’s central Professional services teams.
This post will play a key role in supporting the Head of School (HoS) and senior academic leadership team in the School of Life Sciences to develop and deliver its ambitious departmental plan and will be a key point of liaison for the Faculty Support team and Professional Services teams across the University.
Skills and qualifications required
The successful candidate will have proven extensive high-level administrative experience in a challenging and complex role and a broad understanding of Higher Education, along with excellent communication, finance, IT and leadership skills. A good undergraduate degree or equivalent qualification/ experience is essential.
