The School of Cultures, Languages and Area Studies is seeking to appoint a Chair in Latin American Studies. The successful candidate will have a proven record of academic excellence and leadership in any field of modern Latin American Studies, with a special emphasis on cultural studies, history, or the social sciences, with a demonstrable ability to head the Centre for Research on Cuba (and the Cuba Research Forum network) and to further the School’s specialisation on Cuba.
The successful applicant will also undertake a substantive programme of research consistent with professorial standing, whilst enhancing the excellence and visibility of research and impact in their specialist area, leading to grant applications, potential impact case studies and research outputs.
Candidates must hold a PhD (or equivalent) in Hispanic or Latin American Studies or a related discipline.
This is a full-time, permanent post available from 1 April 2020.
