Location:- This position will be based at the Bay Campus, Swansea
College of Engineering is seeking an experienced Engineering professional to join us in the post of Employability and Placements Manager.
This is an ideal role for an individual working in industry or with significant industrial experience, to bring their skills and experience into an educational environment, supporting our students and graduates.
The successful candidate will work in partnership with the College Director of Employability and academic leads to deliver our Year in Industry programme. This will include monitoring and assessing students’ performance during their placement, aligning with UK Engineering Council Competences and the professional development requirements of discipline specific engineering bodies, e.g. IMechE, ICE etc. They will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with legal, health and safety and duty of care responsibilities towards our students.
The post holder will be required to represent the College of Engineering at a local, national and international level, developing and extending a portfolio of existing and new relationships with employers, stakeholders and intermediaries.
The role requires some travel within the UK – this is expected to be typically 40-60 days per year to visit students at their industry placements. Some evening and weekend working will also be required as part of this role to deliver and support events.
