About the LSI
The Leeds Sustainability Institute (LSI), based at Leeds Beckett University, is a leading research organisation specialising in understanding how to improve the sustainability of the built environment.
We are currently undertaking research projects to investigate methods for measuring the thermal performance of homes, and to investigate how retrofits can improve the energy efficiency of homes in the UK.
Our research is multi-disciplinary, incorporating building performance evaluation testing, gaining insights into behaviour change, as well as undertaking machine learning on energy and environmental data.
About the role
You will support research leaders in developing data collection methodologies, undertaking building performance evaluation testing in buildings and analysing energy and environmental data.
You will work with academic colleagues in the university and at partner institutions to deliver research outputs and to generate future income. You will also contribute to teaching and supervision activities within the School of the Built Environment, Engineering and Computing.
You will be able to demonstrate that you can undertake high quality field work and analysis, preferably in the field of building performance evaluation including air pressure tests, thermographic surveys, heat flux measurements or co heating tests. You will also be familiar with handling large data sets and undertaking statistical data analysis using SPSS, R or similar.
You will have a PhD in a related topic and be able to contribute to supervision of Doctoral students on our PhD and EngD program and support the LSI's contribution the Research Excellence Framework.
