Shaanxi Normal University (SNNU), known as the “Cradle of Teachers” in Northwest China, is directly administered by the Ministry of Education, and is one of the first universities authorised as “First - Class Discipline” university, which are supported by national research funding. Founded in 1944 and located in internationally renowned historical city Xi’an, SNNU has become as an influential top-tier comprehensive university in Western China distinguished by teacher education and education studies, and strives to build to be an outstanding comprehensive research university.

The school of Education, renowned as Western China Leader in teacher training and education studies, is targeting to prepare quality professional teachers and researchers, to improve the quality of educational innovation, to cultivate high quality professionals, and to be world-class in the related disciplines,. To date, it is comprised of 6 departments, providing 1 first– level post-doctoral research station in Pedagogy, 5 first-level doctoral programme, 11 first-level academic master’s programs, and 6 first-level professional master’s programme.

Person Specification and Requirements:

For Senior Professors:

  • Participated and delivered important contributions to scientific research (international) in recent 5 years
  • Can assume the leading role in the field of their research
  • Can assume or lead a team to advance national key research projects

For Professors:

  • Participated and delivered important contributions to scientific research (national) in recent 5 years
  • Can assume the leading role in the field of their research
  • Can assume or lead a team to advance national key research projects

Compensation and Benefits:

Salary

  • For Senior Professors (full-time), SNNU will provide a salary of 1500,000 RMB per year (before tax). Also, SNNU will help to organise a research team and provide start up fund (no less than 2000,000 RMB).
  • For Senior Professors (part-time), SNNU will provide a salary of 150,000 RMB per year (before tax). Also, SNNU will provide reasonable start up fund.
  • For Professors (full-time), SNNU will provide a salary of 800,000 RMB per year (before tax). Also, SNNU will help to organise a research team and provide start up fund (no less than 500,000 RMB).
  • For Professors (part-time), SNNU will provide a salary of 60,000 RMB per month (before tax). Also, SNNU will provide reasonable start up fund.

Accommodation:

  • For successful candidates (full-time), SNNU will help to buy an apartment, and provide a moving allowance of 300,000 RMB.
  • For successful candidates (part-time), SNNU will provide a free rental apartment.

Special Support:

  • For successful candidates (full-time), their children/grandchildren can apply to study in SNNU affiliated nursery, primary school and senior school within the rule of the regulations.
