The MRC LMB invites applications for a tenure-track Group Leader position within the PNAC Division.  We seek a colleague with an exciting vision and outstanding track-record who will address fundamental questions relating to molecular mechanisms of immunity and infection.

The primary selection criteria are scientific excellence and the potential for synergy with existing research programmes ( You should hold a PhD and have an excellent publication record with outstanding potential for independent research.

PNAC Division is committed to creating a diverse workforce and we particularly encourage applications from women and people from BAME backgrounds as they are under-represented at this level.

The position provides substantial core funding for your research. Your group will be hosted in our new and custom-built institute, which provides exceptional core facilities. Administrative duties are minimal and no teaching is required. Interactions with groups across the four Divisions of the LMB are vibrant and encouraged.

This appointment will be made at either Programme Leader or Programme Leader-track level, depending on achievements and experience.

Candidates for Programme Leader positions should have a strong international track record of relevant independent research and a proven ability to lead a research team, pursuing original approaches to long-term research goals.

Programme Leader-track appointments will be made for those who have demonstrated the potential to develop into Programme Leaders within six years.

Candidates with appropriate levels of experience may be given responsibility for oversight of core scientific activities with the LMB.
