About the role

We are looking for an exceptional equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) professional to join the Human Resources team at the University of Roehampton as our Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion Adviser / Officer. The role reports to the Director of Human Resources and has institutional responsibilities that cover both the staff and student community.

We have made some significant progress in advancing EDI in recent years through a number of progressive initiatives. We are aiming to be recognised as a destination of choice in the Higher Education sector for staff, ensuring we have the most inclusive environment and that we embed and thread EDI in everything we do, and support our community of networks to lead positive and progressive change.

You will be responsible for supporting the achievement of institutional strategic objectives and the delivery of operational activities relating to EDI. You will also be responsible for bringing everything “EDI” together such as ensuring we achieve our action plans relating to Athena Swan and Stonewall, supporting our Race Equality Charter Mark submission, progress and support initiatives relating to BAME achievement gap, gender pay, and helping us achieve our aims and aspirations in all areas of EDI.

About you

You will have an excellent experience of all EDI activities and initiatives. You will be able to demonstrate that you have developed and delivered EDI initiatives that have successfully embedded and contributed towards advancing EDI. You will be a solution focused can do EDI professional that is collegial and collaborative and always able to exercise integrity and sensitivity. A working knowledge of Equality legislation will be important.
