Join a unique British University in China.  University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) was the first Sino-foreign university to open its doors in China. Located in Ningbo, this award winning campus offering a UK style education has grown to establish a student body of over 8,000 in just 15 years.

The Faculty of Science and Engineering is one of the newest at the University but is expected to become one of the biggest as the University rolls out its detailed, long term plans. The University expects to triple its number of science and engineering students to over 3,000 within the next few years. The first crop of UNNC science and engineering students began to graduate in 2012 and Master of Science degrees will be offered in a range of subjects in the near future.

The School of Mathematical Sciences has the ambition to bring the level of its existing statistics group to a level of international recognition over a period of 5 years. In pursuing this goal, we are looking to appoint a Professor in statistics/probability with expertise in one of the areas of Applied Probability, Stochastic Analysis, Medical Statistics or Data Science. The successful candidate will have an excellent track record of publications in the relevant leading journals, experience of supervising UG and PG students, excellent teaching skills evidenced by student evaluations or peer observations, the ability to teach across a range of mathematics/statistics subjects, the ability to acquire research grants, excellent English language verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to interact with and effectively lead the junior staff.

Your Remuneration, Benefits and Support

This is a permanent post that you will be offered a fixed term contract initially of up to 5 years with University of Nottingham Ningbo China with effect from September 2020 or as soon as thereafter. This contract can be extended on an indefinite basis based on mutual agreement.
