Salary: Not Specified
Hours: Full Time
Contract Type: Permanent, Fixed-Term/Contract

The Unit for Business Development at the Center for Bachelor of Engineering Studies (DTU Diploma) invites applications for a position as Assistant or Associate Professor in economics and business studies. The position entails teaching – mainly in Danish – within the Diploma programs in further and continuing education at DTU as well as within the Bachelor of Engineering Studies program.

DTU Diploma is located at DTU Ballerup Campus and is part of the Technical University of Denmark. The teaching is project- and problem-based and aimed at meeting the needs of the private sector and the industry.

The main goal of DTU Diplom is to offer teaching that consistently has the students’ interests at heart. Accordingly, you must be well founded within your field, and your teaching should make use of the newest technologies and knowledge in close partnership with relevant stakeholders from the private sector.

The pedagogical concept of the Bachelor of Engineering programs is based upon the internationally recognized concept CDIO (Conceive, Design, Implement, Operate). This is a concept that DTU has de-veloped in cooperation with other universities worldwide, ensuring that graduates have a high degree of professionalism and strong personal and interpersonal skills taught in an engineering context.

Responsibilities and tasks

The position entails a combination of teaching and project supervision, and in both capacities you are expected to inspire students in relation to their current and future career stages. It is crucial that you have experience from the private sector as well as from higher education and/or further and continuing education.

In addition, we expect you to participate in and take initiative in relation to development and innovation projects that further DTU’s strategic focus areas. Such projects can be of a pedagogical nature but can also take the shape of collaborations with the private sector and other stakeholders.

Teaching is mainly conducted in Danish, but select modules and some supervision will be in English.

We are looking for applicants with both pedagogical and professional experience within the fields of economics and sales. You must furthermore be prepared to further develop your teaching competencies to meet future needs on the part of DTU.

Qualifications

Qualified applicants will have a relevant MSc degree as well as:

  • Ideally several years of relevant work experience
  • Extensive teaching experience at BA and diploma level, preferably supplemented by a theoretical module in university pedagogics
  • Excellent command of English and Danish
  • The ability to contribute to the department’s central areas of expertise
  • A desire to work with diploma students as well as in further and continuing education

You must be passionate about teaching and project supervision, and it is important that you have extensive experience and knowledge of pedagogy and didactics. At the same time, you must have an interest in development tasks and actively contribute to the department’s professional development through participation in development and innovation projects.
