Job Summary

An exciting Business Development Executive opportunity has arisen to join the fast growing and dynamic Executive Education team at Imperial College Business School.

The role offers a variety of engaging responsibilities, including Open Programmes lead generation, recruitment and admission process, financial controls, customer relationship management and participant engagement.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Respond to incoming enquiries (via email, phone, website).
  • Identify, qualify and convert leads.
  • Build and maintain relationships with prospective participants.
  • Proactively develop opportunities using target segmentation, telephone, email and social media.
  • Work with the business development team to identify and qualify future key accounts.
  • Follow up leads generated by marketing campaigns and events.
  • Support events, open days and conferences.
  • Validate participant admissions in respect to programme requirements.
  • Liaise with applicant’s admissions process and outcome.
  • Welcome participants to Imperial
  • Participant follow up business development activities.
  • Develop efficient customer focussed admissions processes and correspondence.
  • Provide weekly updates for programme admissions.
  • Liaise with company sponsors to gather the necessary information and paperwork to inform invoices.
  • Liaise with central finance to ensure quick turnaround of invoicing.
  • Liaise with applicants regarding payment.
  • Responsibility for checking weekly unpaid invoices.
  • Reconciling transaction reports for revenues.
  • Administer and invoice transfers.

Essential requirements

  • Administrative/business development work experience in a similar customer-focused sector.
  • Experience of reconciling financial information.
  • Experience of using databases/CRM to store, manipulate and retrieve information.
  • Experience of providing a responsive, customer-focused service – on the telephone, via electronic medium or face-to-face.
  • Experience of prioritising tasks and managing busy workloads successfully to ensure that deadlines / targets are met.
  • Proven experience as a cooperative team member who can also work independently.
  • Sound financial understanding.
  • Sound business development understanding.
  • Meticulous and very well-structured administrative skills.
  • Excellent IT skills: MS Office, Excel and Word, email (Outlook) and the ability to learn and use other software packages.
  • Good numeracy skills and commercial acumen.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • First-rate written and oral communications skills.
  • Flexibility and a capacity to adapt to the changing demands of the job and the needs of the team.
  • The ability to assess and analyse problems and suggest solutions.
  • Excellent relationship building skills.
