As a key component of UNNC, NUBS China is also an integral part of the Nottingham University Business School awarding the same internationally recognized degrees offered by Nottingham in the UK. NUBS China currently has approximately 2,800 students of which about 400 are enrolled in postgraduate programmes including a Ph.D. programme. It has an international faculty of about 100, all based in Ningbo China and coming from 27 countries or so. The school is EQUIS accredited and is part of a university that is highly rated and is seeking to improve further its ranking among the world’s top research and teaching universities. NUBS China focuses its efforts around the three "I"s-International, Innovative, and Interactive. Since 2011, NUBS China has rapidly progressed towards an increasing focus on high impact research, customized executive education, and high quality teaching.

The Professor of Practice will lead the educational side of NUBS China’s executive education which works with Chinese and international organizations to develop their leadership and management capability, with a particular focus on globalization and international management.  NUBS China is well-established as an executive education provider and is now looking to expand and strengthen its current capability. As the first role focused primarily on leadership and management development, the Professor of Practice will be able to shape the development of executive education working with a range of experienced faculty members and a strengthened business development team.

Candidates must have deep experience of delivering executive education, preferably with a focus on leadership and/ or management. Candidates should also have experience of designing executive education programmes as well as programme direction. Proven ability to develop new business would also be advantageous. Fluent written and oral English is essential, while Chinese Putonghua is highly desirable. A PhD, Masters or equivalent professional qualification is expected. Research experience in leadership and/ or management development will also be valued.

The successful candidate will be expected to lead programme design, deliver executive education and participate in programme direction and business development. Opportunities to teach on undergraduate and masters programmes are available for suitable candidates. Research opportunities related to leadership/ management development will be available if of interest. In addition, the person appointed will be expected to contribute to the overall management of the executive education activities of the School. 

Salary will be within the range of £ 52,560-£62,727 per annum depending on skills and experience (salary progression beyond this is subject to performance). In addition, an attractive package including accommodation allowance, travel allowance, schooling support and insurance will be provided for international appointments.

The post will initially be offered on a fixed term contract with the University of Nottingham Ningbo China for a period of 5 years starting 1 June 2020 (or a different start date by mutual agreement). This contract may be renewed/ extended on an indefinite basis by mutual agreement.
