A Senior Research Associate position is available in the Bristol Digital Futures Institute, attached to the School of Sociology, Politics and International Studies, University of Bristol. The successful applicant will work on the project ‘Explaining AI (Artificial Intelligence) Decision Making: organizational and community approaches’ funded through a strategic partnership between the University of Bristol and LV= General Insurance.

The project seeks to extend approaches to making AI decision making explainable by exploring (i) the organizational processes that shape AI decision making and how it is managed; and (ii) how the outcomes of AI decision making can be meaningfully explained to a range of data publics.

The successful applicant will be an experienced researcher, with good knowledge of the relevant fields who is able to take leadership in the day-to day running of the project.
