An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced academic leader to become part of the Advanced Systems Group and develop research on aspects of autonomous systems including sensing, connectivity, security, safety and trust. The candidate will have an international reputation in areas of intelligent and autonomous systems, with an emphasis on machine learning and sensor fusion, which they will continue to develop. They will be expected to provide strategic leadership and vision, developing and leading a team of early-career academics/research staff and post-graduate researchers to deliver research outputs of international quality as well as obtaining, planning and managing the resources required to deliver research projects and impact. They will develop and win funding for innovative research and/or commercial activity and be expected to enable research-led teaching. They will contribute to a global academic community driven by international scholarly activity, international knowledge generation, knowledge exchange, networking, partnerships and collaboration.
