Do you want to lead a team of oncologists in a state of the art Hospital?

If so, the Department of Veterinary Medicine has an exciting opportunity for a Principal Clinical Oncologist with effect from 1 February 2020, or as soon as possible thereafter.

The Principal Clinical Oncologist will develop and lead a high standard of clinical service provision and teaching in veterinary clinical oncology. The person appointed will be responsible for the day-to-day organisation and management of the Oncology service and will develop, with the support of the Hospital Managing Director, the business aspects of the Cancer Therapy Unit. The successful applicant will also take primary responsibility for the training of Senior Clinical Training Scholars in oncology, and will participate in the clinical teaching of veterinary undergraduate students. Involvement in clinical research is actively encouraged, and protected time off clinics will be provided to facilitate this. Participation in an on call rota will be required.

Applicants should be a member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, and hold a Diploma of the European or American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (sub-speciality Oncology) and have experience at a senior level in veterinary clinical oncology. An in-depth understanding of the requirements of veterinary referral hospital work is essential. Documented undergraduate teaching experience is desirable.
