A 14 month position is available for a Research Associate with expertise in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD, particularly minimally-verbal ASD) and/or the cognitive neuroscience of receptive language processing and/or electroencephalography (EEG) acquisition and analysis. The post-holder will work with Dr. Alexandra Woolgar on a project using neuroimaging to index receptive language processing in individuals who do not speak. In particular, we seek to identify neural markers of receptive language in individual minimally-verbal children with ASD. The position would suit an open minded applicant with experience working with children and a passion for exploiting cognitive neuroscientific methods to answer important questions about cognition in this population.
Applicants should hold a PhD (or equivalent) in cognitive neuroscience or related field, and be certified in administration of the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule. Experience of working with children and experience of EG acquisition and analysis is essential. Experience using advanced analysis approaches (e.g., multivariate analyses) and previous research involving individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders is desirable.
Start date for this post is ideally 1st September 2020.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 14 months in the first instance.
Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service check (enhanced with children and adults' barred lists).
